Case Studies

The Kitchen

The remit - to replace the entire vinyl floor with cap and coving as the floor was suffering from severe tears and leaks to the offices below. Since the kitchen was still open for weekday business the work was carried out over a series of consecutive weekends. The equipment had to be unplumbed and removed then subsequently replumbed on completion.

The solution - To lay 3mm self levelling screed, to apply Laybond 2 pack waterproof vinyl adhesive & then to fit 160m2 Polyflor Ultima safety flooring. This flooring had just been developed by Polyflor to specifically provide a safe, non slip, comfortable environment for the chefs in this busy kitchen.

 

The Restaurant

The remit; to remove the old carpet & underlay to match the Black Walnut chequered floor in the bar area.

The solution; to ply out and feather edge to provide a sound, level subfloor for the new floor. Some 800 individually crafted Black Walnut tiles were made by a local East End wood specialist and then glued and pinned to cover the 60m2 area. The floor was then sanded down and given 3 coats of Bonakemi, eco-friendly, non toxic odourless lacquer to acheive a perfect result.

 

The Vertigo Champagne Bar

The remit; this world renowned bar situated some 600 feet above the City of London skyline required its old carpet and underlay to be replaced.

The solution; to supply and fit 250m2 a bespoke 100% wool carpet to match the corporate blue of the bar using the Durafit double stick system. This was achieved over the Christmas period when the bar was closed for the festivities.

Carghill Investor Services, More London, Riverside, SE1
'The mission was to install high quality velour cut pile carpet tiles in this £3 million office fit out for a prestigious dealing room. Onyx, flintstone and red tiles were butted together with flowing curves as walkways to match the shape of the all glass building overlooking the Lord Mayors' offices.

Reed International Publishing Ltd, Procter House, London, EC1
The mission was to supply and fit Amtico Stratica Vinyl planks to marry up to Interface cut pile carpet tiles without transition profiles and incorporating flowing curves throughout the lift lobby, breakout areas and reception.

Harvey Nichols Regus Hair/Beauty Salon
To lay Amtico vinyl wood strip on existing uneven resin floor. Primed with Uzin primer, make floor level using Uzin rapid dry, lay Amtico tile, clean and dress.

Base@Roehampton
To lay Dalsouple rubber tiles on uneven floor. Leveled sub floor with Uzin rapid 152, lay Dalsouple rubber tiles, clean and dress.

To lay single strip sold French oak floor in reception area and corridor, Interface carpet tiles to offices and Altro safety flooring to the kitchen area.
